How William Rast Execs Convinced Justin Timberlake To Star In The Campaign

Justin Timberlake "never really wanted" to be the face of his clothing line, William Rast, according to WWD. But the label's higher-ups managed to talk him into starring in the latest campaign for its first full collection:
"We came up with this idea for him to play a role as this guy named William Rast," [creative director] Johan Lindeberg said. "So it isn't meant to be Justin, it's Justin playing a role, as an actor. When we explained the idea, he instantly loved it and got really into building the profile of this character."
In fact, Justin plays this William Rast character in a series of short Internet movies called "My Name Is William Rast" debuting at williamrastmovie.com later this month. In them William Rast is a rebel who runs from the police with Birdie, his lady friend, played by model Erin Wasson. The couple wears head-to-toe William Rast and apparently have committed some mysterious crime. As they flee the police they stop from time to time for "steamy make-out sessions," eventually dashing into the forest together as gunshots go off in the background.

Hm. It sounds like the injury Wasson suffered shooting this campaign just might have been worth it.

 

Timberlake's Grandmother Dreams Of Biel Marriage

Pop star Justin Timberlake's grandmother wants him to marry girlfriend Jessica Biel - in an intimate ceremony in his mother's backyard.
Sadie Bomar insists she would love to see her grandson settle down with the actress, and is convinced their relationship will lead to marriage.
She tells British publication The Sun, "Jessica's really sweet. She's his age and isn't possessive. I think their personalities are a lot alike."
And Bomar would love a small family gathering for his nuptials - and thinks Timberlake's mother's garden would be the ideal setting.
She adds, "I just want them to be happy. Justin should get married in Lynn's back yard in Tennessee.
"She has a big back yard with beautiful flowers. I think it would be perfect.

Timberlake Holds Back On Madonna

If Justin Timberlake is planning to riff on the reported liaison between Alex Rodriguez and Madonna when he hosts the 2008 ESPY Awards, he isn’t saying.

Timberlake, who will host the 16th edition of the ESPN awards show from the Nokia Theater in L.A. on July 20, participated in a conference call Thursday in which he was asked about his golf handicap (“from about 4 to 10, depending if I’m on tour”); his favorite athlete (“Tiger Woods, now. Michael Jordan when I was kid.”); his proudest sports moment (“My jumper on [TNT analyst] Kenny Smith on national television, that Barkley won’t let him live down”)—and whether he might make reference to the tabloid frenzy surrounding the Yankees slugger and the pop matron.

“We have a scandal here in New York with some people you know,” someone asked. “Will that be a part of the show?”

“Now, why would I give that up?” Timberlake laughed.

Asked which sports stars he’s looking forward to meeting, the man who boasted about bringing sexy back offered: “I’ve never met Danica Patrick.”

Tinberlake's 'Side Splitting' Comedy Prompts Alba's Labour

New mum Jessica Alba has credited her The Love Guru co-star Justin Timberlake with kick-starting her labour.

The Fantastic Four beauty was watching a private Hollywood screening of the new film just two days before she was admitted to Los Angeles' Cedars Sinai Medical Center to give birth to daughter Honor Marie on 7 June (08).

And she's convinced Timberlake's hilarious onscreen antics got her baby ready for delivery.

She says, "I felt something go. I had been very careful of my movements and seating, but it was impossible to sit still when he (Timberlake) was on screen.

"I wouldn't go as far as saying my water broke, but it did feel as if I was actually splitting my sides. I felt completely drained afterwards." And she is full of praise for the singer's acting talents: "He's a natural actor, with a great sense of humour."

Justin Timberlake's Mother Love

Justin Timberlake is terrified of his mother.

The 'Love Guru' star - who is dating actress Jessica Biel - admits he is not easily fazed, but his mom Lynn still makes him nervous.

He said: "I try not to be afraid of anything. I'm still afraid of my mother, but I think every grown man is!"

When asked what the best advice his mother had ever given him, Justin said: "She'd say, 'Answer me when I ask you a question!' and then I'd start to answer and she'd go, 'Shut up when I'm talking.' "

However, Justin added he loves his mother because she encouraged him to follow his musical dream.

He added to Life and Style Weekly magazine: "One of my childhood idols was Michael Jordan, and my mom said that just because he plays basketball better than anyone on the face of the earth doesn't mean he's better than everyone.

"It just means he plays basketball better. I think my mom knew I had a knack for performing and wanted to instill in me that, basically, we all put our pants on the same way."

Justin Timberlake Struggling To Adjust

Justin Timberlake has struggled to adjust his bachelor lifestyle since girlfriend Jessica Biel moved in.

The stunning actress recently began living in Justin's Los Angeles home and the couple are said to have argued over fridge space. A source said: "Justin has been a bachelor for a long time.

They are both used to doing things their way and having specific things in the fridge."

However, the smitten pair have come up with a compromise to avoid any more arguments. The source added to America's OK! magazine: "They've had to re-adjust where the beer, water and peanut butter go to make room for each other's favourite foods."

Despite the couple living together, Justin's close friend Trace Ayala recently claimed the 'SexyBack' singer will never get married.

When asked if Justin was thinking of marrying Jessica, Ayala said: "I hope so. To be honest, I don't see wedding bells in the future, but I hope so. I really do."

Earlier this month, it was claimed Justin had been shopping for a wedding ring and was planning to pop the question to the 'I Now Pronounce You Chuck And Larry' actress.

Justin Timberlake’s BFF (and business partner) Trace Ayala doesn’t expect the singer and Jessica Biel to walk down the aisle anytime soon.

Asked if he sees wedding bells in their future, he said, “I hope so. To be honest, I don’t see them in the future, but I hope so. I really do.”

These couples have said they won’t wed.

He spoke to reporters Wednesday at the Hollywood premiere of Timberlake’s new comedy The Love Guru about what makes their relationship work.

“It is not just her, it is also him when he is with her — it is awesome,” he said. “They are just awesome together. She is just a great girl.”

Ayala said he and his girlfriend, actress Joanna Garcia, occasionally double date with the celeb couple “when we have time.”

“For us, it is very important that both people have their own thing going on,” he said, “and that there is a lot of time for yourself. ”

Justin Timberlake’s Golfing Dream Ruined By Allergies

Avid golfer Justin Timberlake's dream of hitting the U.S. Open course at Torrey Pines, California was ruined by his allergies.

The pop superstar joined Jessica Simpson’s boyfriend Tony Romo and TV presenter Matt Lauer for the Golf Digest U.S. Open Challenge last week (06Jun08) and though he managed to break 100, the experience wasn’t what he hoped it would be.

Timberlake says, “It was awesome but, to be honest man, I had one of the worst allergy attacks I’ve ever had on that course.

“They let the grass grow up so high and I almost dropped out because, in between every shot, I’m sneezing.

“Tony (Romo) finally looked at me and he was like, ‘Man, are you OK?’ It was fun and I got to play the course all that week.”

And the fact that he scored 98 through 18 holes was a major achievement for the singer.

He explains, “The USGA (United States Golf Association) does such an amazing job in preparing nature, preparing the elements against the players.

“Someone very high up in the USGA told me they suspect the average score of a pro to be 75, so they said if a four day total of under par wins they would be surprised. They feel they’ve sculpted the toughest U.S. Open course in the history of the game at Torrey Pines.”

When asked if he was harbouring feelings for the 27-year-old star, Mike replied: "I will confirm that, yes!" Justin recently revealed he felt confident in the tight trunks in the hilarious scene but found it tough when they became wedged between his buttocks. He said: "This may be too much information but I was constantly digging out those wedgies. "I work out pretty diligently. At the time I was on tour, I worked on this film for 10 days. I was on tour so I was in shape."

Timberlake Credits Diaz Romance For Making Him Understand Women

Washington, June 14 : Pop star Justin Timberlake is thankful to ex-girlfriend Cameron Diaz for making him understand the fairer sex.

The 27-year-old singer dated the Charlie's Angels star for almost four years before their split in 2007.

In an interview to Cosmopolitan magazine, the 'Sexy back' singer credited Diaz romance for teaching him most about women.

"I know a couple more things than I used to, but us men will never understand women. Ever!" Contactmusic quoted him as saying.

"I think I learnt a lot from my relationship with Cameron, notably that you should always put things in perspective.

"As much as I've learnt though, I'm still a man, so I have some kind of learning disability. And women wouldn't have us any other way," he added.
